Health care is complicated, but it doesn't have to be a hassle with Total Eyecare. Here are a few of the payment options we offer.

VSP

The Vision Service Plan will fully cover your eye health and vision exam. In some cases there is a co-pay required of each patient at the time of service. Most VSP plans also contribute to the purchase of your eyewear. The VSP is not an entitlement plan, and patients are free to choose any frame or lens option recommended by Dr. Colon, Dr. Alleman or Dr. Curtis.

Other Eyecare Plans

Many plans covering routine vision and materials pay specific benefits for services and materials. Our policy is that at least 50% of out-of-pocket charges are due before the order is placed with the balance due on delivery. We file the claims, normally within 24 hours of your visit, for the scheduled payment to be made to our office. Remember that the insurance contract is between you and the insurance company and we are filing the claim as a courtesy for you. Any questions regarding payment of benefits must be taken up by you with the insurance company.For those plans with no benefits, the total charge for the eye exam is due on the day of the visit with at least 50% of the cost of materials. Payment for contact lenses received on the day of the visit is due in full at the time of delivery.

Medicare

Our practice fully participates in the Medicare program. We accept assignment of benefits on behalf of each eligible patient. Eye health exams are fully covered by Medicare, but the refraction part of the vision section is a non-covered service, as mandated by Federal law. Each Medicare patient will be charged $26.00 for the refraction service.

Lay-a-way Plan

We will be happy to establish a Lay-A-Way Plan. Payments can be made toward services and materials which will be posted to your account and to used in the future.
